The PagbaBAGo: A Million Learners and Trees Campaign is a flagship initiative of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) which aims to strengthen Filipino communities through educational support and environmental action.
This two-pronged program was designed to benefit learners and their families nationwide through the distribution of one million bags containing school supplies, raincoats, and dental kits, and the planting of one million seedlings in identified communities across the country.
Originally launched to help ease the financial burden of learners from struggling Filipino families, the program expanded to include tree-planting activities that support community resilience and environmental protection.
As of August 29, 2025, the Office of the Vice President successfully achieved its target of planting one million seedlings nationwide, marking a major milestone in the implementation of the PagbaBAGo campaign.
The PagbaBAGo program builds on a similar initiative first implemented by Vice President Sara Z. Duterte during her tenure as Mayor of Davao City. Following her election in 2022, the program was adopted as one of the OVP’s flagship initiatives.
Today, PagbaBAGo is implemented nationwide through the OVP’s Central Office, ten Satellite Offices, and one Extension Office, ensuring broad and sustained reach across different regions in the country.
The program aims to further strengthen its implementation by working closely with its key partners, including the Department of Education, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, local government units, and various public and private sector organizations.
