The Office of the Vice President-Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office (OVP-PNI SO) successfully spearheaded a community tree-planting initiative on September 2, 2026, as part of its PagbaBAGo: A Million Trees Campaign. The environmental activity took place inside the campus of Puyas Elementary School, located in the municipality of Murcia.

Working hand-in-hand with local educators and young learners, the OVP-PNI SO planted 100 Mangium seedlings across designated green zones within the school grounds. The activity serves as a practical implementation of the agency's broad commitment to ecological preservation and climate change mitigation at the grassroots level.

As these seedlings grow into strong, mature trees, they will offer valuable shade and help improve air quality for generations of students to come. Inspired by the success of the event, the OVP-PNI SO committed to organizing more collaborative environmental initiatives across the region.
